biography
I am a musician in New England but I am also the leader of a ten piece band out of D.C. which requires a lot of travel. The band does high-end corporate work and weddings. I write to amuse myself and others and I play some of my songs live. I've never used a sequencer or anything like FL so I only record what I can play (with a drumbox). This limits me a LOT in what I post but I like playing all the parts. Someday I'd like to get FL and try it out. My voice sounds like chirpy little woodland creature but I'm stuck with it. I also enjoy long walks on the beach, puppies and pizza (my 2 favorite foods).
I know where you live

Been a while since I've been on - eye operation. can't see, drive, or read worth a damn. Nearly missed my own wedding. Missed the get together up North. It's not been a good summer.
However, I got a chance to record some stuff with friends down in DC and that was great.
This song is about this nut-case who used to stalk me when I was in a band in MA. She'd hang outside my house all night and call me from her car. She'd see me at a gig and say stuff like "where were you last night until two?" Man that still gives me the creeps.
Anyway, that's where this song came from. It's very raw but any mix suggestions or arrangement ideas would help. Thanks
Here are the words if anyone's interested:
I know where you live
Some times I follow you around
I spend my day that way
Ten steps behind and not a sound
and I hear everything you say
Got a camera in my pocket and a gun in my car
copied the keys to your apartment
every scrap of information I've collected so far
I keep it my my glove compartment and
HOOK
I know where you go to work
I know where you eat your dinner
Your favorite restaurant
I know where you live
I watch your house at night sometimes
I see you come and go
If I feel like committing any crimes
I guess you'll be the first to know cuz
I got a feeling that the guy you've been seeing is scum
A feeling inside my head
I can see through my binoculars he's dumber than dumb
You'd be better off with him dead and
HOOK
I know where you go to work
I know where you eat your dinner
Your favorite restaurant
I know where you live
All your friends like me at least
I think that they would if we met
We've got so much in common
We're so much alike that it's creepy and yet
You never seem to notice me at all
You never pick the phone up when I call
And the one time we've spoken
for some reason you got upset
Don't ask me why
SOLO
VAMP
I know where you go to work
I know where you eat your dinner
Your favorite restaurant
The fact that you drink your coffee black
I know where you pay your bills
I've even been through your garbage
I know you were meant for me
I know where you live

Hey
I've been off the Amp for quite a while. Been jacked up and unable to see.
But, I got on tonight and tried to UL a song. I got a message saying I have to review 47 songs before I can UL my own. Isn't it still 3 songs I have to review? Also, I'm not showing as currently online, though my member homepage is still active. 'S'up widdat?
Thanks

This is one of the first songs I ever wrote. I did it when I was...oh never mind! It was forever ago. Back then it was really a rock tune with a 3 part harmony guitar solo a la Queen. I listened to it last spring for the first time in a while and YIKES!
So I thought I'd try to make it a little more palatable. I can't remember if I posted the old version and pulled it or what so I'll post this again.
I couldn't do this one in my regular studio so I had to use some lousy equipment. Anybody remember tape? 8 track analog. Nuff said.
If it's worth it, I'll re-do it on my stuff at home since I'm home for a while now. The bg vocals are way over the top but I'm searching for something to do there, so I'll leave them in for your comments. Thanks for taking the time to listen.

Here's a song about pot that I posted a while back. I pulled it because i thought I was taking up too much room on the server. I realized what a newbie i was when i started checking out other Ampers pages and seeing twice as many songs as I had posted! So, I re-worked this with keys and a better guitar solo track. The keys give it a vaguely Steely Dan vibe which is fine by me.
The lyrics are about being high. The brilliant, fleeting insights; the the lack of motivation; the munchies.
Lemme know what you think. Especially about the bass line. I somehow lost the audio files for the bass on the bridge section but I never really liked what I had there anyway.
BTW, this is a LONG song so if you listen to the whole thing, thanks!
Oh yeah, I should mention I don't condone the use of drugs
Thanks for listening.

Your Little Room 2

Here is a clean Protools version of this song. I originally wrote it on the way to a gig last week and recorded it on Audacity in my laptop. The sound was not spectacular to say the least. i re-recorded it with the fixes suggested by spoon, battlecat and Tritonkeyboarder (but i've got no strings!). Anyway, this version is actually listenable and almost complete. It's a lullaby for a friend's baby, born last week. whaddya say TK, you wanna throw some strings on this?
Here are the words again
Your Little Room
Close your eyes and I'll hold you near
and we'll rest in your little room
as the stars and the planets rise
you are my world
and I, your moon
Go to sleep in my arms and dream
Though your dreams are a mystery
do you dream of a different world
or dream of home
or dream of me?
Close your eyes for the night is here
And in your room there is just us two
In my arms I can feel you breathe
And every breath
I breathe with you
Now I know there will come a time
When our world in this room will end
But for now as I hold your hand
I'm all you need
You're all I am
My little man
Here are the words again

Close your eyes and I'll hold you near
and we'll rest in your little room
as the stars and the planets rise

And every breath
I breathe with you
Now I know there will come a time
When our world in this room will end
But for now as I hold your hand
I'm all you need
You're all I am
